On occasion, you may find you are unable to attend the Course that you have enrolled in. In this circumstance you may be eligible for one options outlined below. We handle and process refunds (if required) in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a Course or other Service is Defective (meaning that it does not meet the specific standard provided under the Australian Consumer Law) then you may be entitled to have the Service refunded or replaced.
Should you wish to obtain a refund or other remedy, you must contact us within 14 calendar days of completion of the Service to report any discrepancies or faults to make a claim otherwise you will be deemed to have accepted the Service.
Returns or refunds are made in our discretion subject to any guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Except as required by the Australian Consumer Law, we will only facilitate a refund if we are unable to facilitate the completion of the Service or, if we determine, in our absolute discretion, it is reasonable to do so.
Refund for change of mind (face to face courses only)
Should you wish to cancel your enrolment in a Plato Project Course due to your changing your mind, becoming unavailable, or otherwise for any reason other than the Course being Defective, you must notify us in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org, including: your name, the Course name, and the original invoice number. Depending on the notice given, you are eligible for a refund as follows:
If a change-of-mind cancellation request is received up to 30 days before Course Commencement, you will receive a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
If a change-of-mind cancellation request is received less than 30 days prior to Course Commencement but before commencement of your Course, you will receive a full refund minus $500 or the deposit paid, whichever is the lesser.
If a change-of-mind cancellation request is received after the commencement of the Course, no refund is payable and you are required to pay the full amount of the Course Fee even if you do not complete the Course.
Due to the instant nature of access to online courses, no refunds apply for change-of-mind cancellation of these.
If you do not want a refund, or a refund is not available to you under this policy or under the Australian Consumer Law, you might wish to consider one of the following alternative options:
Should you be unable to attend a Plato Project Course, you may nominate a substitute to attend in your place. There are no administration fees payable for processing a substitution.
Written request for substitution must be received by email to email@example.com a minimum of 7 days prior to the Course commencement date. Notifications must include: your name, the Course name, the name and contact information for your substitute, the original invoice number and either:
(a) the full balance payable in respect of the Course, if any amount remains outstanding (whether or not you were intending to pay for the Course by way of a loan); or
(b) if your Course Fees are to be paid by your employer, proof that your employer has paid the full balance payable in respect of the Course.
Upon our receiving a request for substitution, we will assess the request and may uphold or deny it in our sole discretion. Due to complexities surrounding the transfer of study loans, we reserve the right to refuse to facilitate alternative payment methods and to reject a request if the full Course Fee balance has not been paid. Money paid by you or your employer as part of the request may be refunded if the request is denied, less any non-refundable deposits. The substitute must agree to the Plato Project Terms of Services as part of the acceptance process.
You may substitute within a Course only once.
Due to the instant nature of access to online courses, no substitutions are permitted.
Should you be unable to attend a Plato Project Course, you may request for a deferment to begin the Course on a future commencement date. There are no administration fees payable for processing a valid request for deferment.
Written notification must be received by email to firstname.lastname@example.org a minimum of 7 days prior to the Course commencement date. Notifications must include: your name, the Course name, the original invoice number, and preferred Course commencement date.
You may only defer a Course once.
Your credit will be valid for 12 months from the original commencement date, during which you must nominate a new intake and commence the Course. After this time, you will forfeit any fees paid.
Where Plato Project is not able to offer a future intake in the Course, a full refund will be made.
Due to the instant nature of access to online courses, no deferment is permitted.
Should you be unable to attend a Plato Project Course or feel that you have selected the wrong Course, you may request to transfer to a new Course. There are no administration fees payable for processing a transfer.
Written notification must be received by email to email@example.com before the beginning of the second Session of your Course. Notifications must include: your name, the Course name, original invoice number, and preferred new Course.
You may only transfer once.
You may transfer into a Course of the same level and fee value or pay the difference between the Course Fees. Your transfer request must be approved by the Program Manager.
If you seek to transfer to a Course with a lesser Course Fee, your request must also be approved by the Chief Executive Officer. If your request is approved you will be eligible for a refund of the difference between the Course Fees.
Due to the instant nature of access to online courses, no transfers are permitted.
